1주의 말씀 : 신명은 육신이 없는 사람이다

A Spirit Is a Human Without a Body

“The mind is the master of the body.” My mind is the master of my flesh. My flesh is the outer casing, and the master of my flesh is my mind. The mind, expressed in different terms, is the ‘mind-soul.’ ①The body is merely the servant of the mind.

During their lifetime, a person functions as a person through the union of the mind-soul and the flesh. In death, a person no longer possesses the flesh, yet their spirit still functions as a person.

What, then, is the difference between a person and a spirit?

②A person is ‘a human with flesh’; a spirit is ‘a human without flesh.’ Save for the lack of a physical body, a spirit is exactly like a person.

Countless people have died throughout history, and most of their bodies have long disappeared, but the spirits of the deceased live onward as people without their physical bodies. When the body expires through the process of birth, old age, sickness, and death, it eventually disappears forever. The spirit, however, does not pass away in this manner. ③Depending upon the degree of a person’s self-cultivation, their spirit may live onward for one thousand years or even ten thousand years.

신명은 육신이 없는 사람이다

“심야자心也者는 일신지주一身之主라.” 마음이라 하는 것은 내 육신의 주인이다. 육신은 거푸집이요 내 육신의 주인은 바로 내 마음이다. 다른 말로 심령心靈이다. 육신은 마음의 심부름꾼일 뿐이다.

그런데 사람이 살아서는 심령과 육신이 합일해서 사람 노릇을 하고, 죽어서는 육신은 없어도 신명神明이 사람 노릇을 한다.
허면 사람과 신명이라 하는 것은 어떤 차이가 있느냐?

사람은 ‘육신이 있는 사람’이요 신명은 ‘육신이 없는 사람’이다. 신명은 육신만 없을 뿐이지 역시 똑같은 사람이다.

지금까지 수많은 사람들이 죽어서 육신은 없어졌지만 그 죽은 사람들의 신명은 육신이 없는 사람 노릇을 하고 있다. 육신은 살다가 생로병사에 의해 죽어지면 끝이 난다. 하지만 신명은 그렇게 죽는 것이 아니다. 닦은 바에 따라서 천 년도 가고, 만 년도 가는 것이다.

2주의 말씀 : 원한 맺힌 신명들이 천지에 가득 찼다

Spirits Harboring Bitterness and Grief Fill Heaven and Earth

Since division and development occur ceaselessly in the Early Heaven during the birth-growth era of cosmic spring and summer, mutual conflict and domination naturally dominates. Because mutual conflict and domination dominates the human world, nobody has ever actually lived a mortal lifetime as they truly wished. By nature, each and every person is born into this world to live a lifetime of freedom. ①Yet, living within a physical body, no one has ever lived entirely in accordance with their own free will.

Humanity’s history has been stained with blood and gilded with unrighteousness. It is not too much to say that, ②among all who have dwelled in this world in human form, not a single person ever departed this world without incurring a burden of bitterness and grief. All people who died bearing bitterness and grief became ‘spirits filled with unresolved bitterness and grief.’

Throughout humanity’s history of struggle, people have died while afflicted by bitterness and grief so intense that it reverberated throughout the heavens; these people, having become spirits, now fill heaven and earth. ③Spirits harboring bitterness and grief now fill all of heaven and earth.

원한 맺힌 신명들이 천지에 가득 찼다

선천 봄여름의 생장生長시대는 분열 발달만 자꾸 거듭하기 때문에 자연적으로 상극이 사배司配하게 된다. 인간 세상도 상극이 사배해서 누구도 제 뜻대로 살다간 사람이 없다. 사람은 누구도 천부적으로 자유를 향유享有하며 한 세상을 살려고 세상에 태어났는데 제 육신을 가지고 자기 자의대로 살다간 사람이 없다.

인류 역사는 피로 물들고 불의로 장식이 됐다. 지나간 세상에서는 사람 두겁을 쓰고 나온 사람 쳐 놓고 원한을 맺지 않고 간 사람이 한 사람도 없다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 그 원한을 맺고 죽은 사람들이 전부가 다 원신寃神이 됐다.

인간의 투쟁의 역사에서 철천지한徹天之恨을 맺고 죽은 신명들이 지금 하늘땅 사이에 가득히 찼다. 원한 맺힌 신명들이 하늘땅 사이에 양일洋溢, 가득 차 있다.

3주의 말씀 : 신명정부를 조직하여 앞 세상 틀을 짜심

Forming the Government of Spirits to Establish the Framework of the Coming World

①In order to fundamentally correct this world so as to build a magnificent new world, the spirits must first be resolved of their bitterness and grief. Since ②spirits are the principals in the devising of the foundation of the new world, those spirits who harbor bitterness and grief must first have their bitterness and grief resolved.

Sangjenim assembled all the spirits and reorganized the spirit realm. This was the formation of the government of spirits. He established within this government the framework of the tides of the world.

The tides of the present world are manifestations of Sangjenim’s works of renewal for the resolution of bitterness and grief, created as these works unfold as historical events. These works entailed both the spirits’ undertakings and the achievement of their resolution of their bitterness and grief. ③The world in which we live could not have been saved by any means if Sangjenim, the Supreme Governor of the Universe, had not come to the world Himself to alter its course with a new framework.

신명정부를 조직하여 앞 세상 틀을 짜심

세상을 근본적으로 바로잡고 좋은 세상을 만들려면, 신명들을 먼저 해원解寃을 시켜주어야 한다. ‘해원’, 원한을 풀어준다는 말이다. 새 세상 틀을 짜는 데는 신명들이 주역이 되기 때문에, 원한 맺힌 신명들부터 먼저 해원을 시켜주어야 한다.

상제님이 그 신명들을 전부 끌어 모아서 신명세계를 조직하셨다. 그게 바로 신명정부다. 상제님께서 신명정부를 조직해서 그 속에서 세상 둥글어갈 틀을 짜셨다.

지금 이 세상이 둥글어가는 것은 신명들로 하여금 해원공사에 역사役事를 시켜 신명들이 해원을 하고, 그 해원공사가 인간 세상에 역사적인 사건으로 그대로 표출이 되는 것이다. 우리가 살고 있는 이 세상은 우주의 통치자이신 상제님이 직접 오셔서 새로운 틀로 바꿔놓기 전에는 무엇으로써도 구제할 방도가 없다.

4주의 말씀 : 성사는 재인이다

It is humanity that accomplishes

①Sangjenim organized the government of spirits; planned the programs, the schedule, the timetable for the tides of the world; and compelled the world to turn in accordance with this timetable. This, Sangjenim named the Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth(Cheonjigongsa). In sum, Sangjenim’s Work of Renewing Heaven and Earth is the blueprint for the tides of this world.

Sangjenim’s work is further defined by His proclamation: ②“It is heaven that devises and humanity that accomplishes” (Dojeon 4:4:4). “It is heaven that devises” connotes that Sangjenim had already established the framework for the tides of the coming world. “[It is] humanity that accomplishes” signifies that Sangjenim entrusted the specific implementation of this framework to humans.

Sangjenim’s culture is not simply another culture, but rather the ‘gaebyeok culture,’ or the ‘culture of renewal.’ It is the culture that shall completely transform everything. It is the culture that will deliver humanity from annihilation and create a new world—the new heaven and earth. Sangjenim ‘devised’ this culture, which shall bring this new world to pass. Will most certainly bring it to pass! ③To ‘accomplish’ this through human undertakings, Sangjenim entrusted the work to His workers.

성사는 재인이다

상제님께서 신명정부를 조직하여 세상 둥글어갈 프로그램, 시간표, 이정표를 짜서, 이 세상이 그렇게만 둥글어가도록 만드셨다. 상제님이 그것을 이름하여 ‘천지공사天地公事’라고 하셨다. 요컨대 상제님의 천지공사가 바로 이 세상 둥글어가는 설계도이다.

상제님 일은 “모사는 재천[謀事在天]하고 성사는 재인[成事在人]”이다. ‘모사는 재천’이라, 상제님이 천지공사로 앞 세상 둥글어갈 틀을 이미 짜놓으셨다는 말씀이다. 그리고 ‘성사는 재인’이라, 그 틀 그대로를 집행하는 것은 사람에게 맡겨 놓으셨다.
상제님 문화는 그냥 문화가 아니라 개벽문화다. 기존의 것을 완전히 바꿔 놓는 문화다. 죽는 세상에 전 인류를 살려서 새 세상을 만드는, 신천지를 만드는 문화다. 상제님이 그렇게 되도록 모사를 하셨다. 꼭 그렇게 되도록! 그리고 그것을 인사人事로 성사시키는 것은, 상제님의 일꾼들에게 맡겨 놓으셨다.
